Pintupi/Luritja Dictionary

The success of the acrylic 'dot' paintings of the Western Desert school of art has brought the culture of the Pintupi and Luritja people of Central Australia to world attention. In this third edition of the Pintupi/Luritja Dictionary, their language is presented in its most comprehensive form yet. The Pintupi/Luritja Dictionary represents twenty years of research, compilation and analysis by Ken and Lesley Hansen. With over 8,000 entries, it covers the vocabulary used in everyday speech by speakers of Pintupi/Luritja at Papunya, Walungurru (Kintore) and surrounding outstations, as well as dialects spoken at Ernabella, Kaltukatjarra (Docker River), Warakurna (Giles) and Balgo Hills. An extensive English finder list is also included to assist the language learner.
