Alessandra Capanna, architetto, PhD, ricercatore in Composizione architettonica e Urbana presso la facoltà di Architettura della Sapienza di Roma è docente di Progettazione Architettonica. Ha scritto saggi e monografie, tenuto seminari sul tema dei rapporti tra matematica, musica e architettura. Corresponding editor (2009-2013) di “Nexus Network Journal. Architecture and Mathematics on-line”, fa parte del collegio dei docenti del dottorato in Architettura e Costruzione (DRACo) e del comitato scientifico e didattico del Master di primo livello in Scenografia teatrale e televisiva della Sapienza di Roma. Dal 2007 collabora con l’Istituto dell’enciclopedia italiana (Treccani). Socio fondatore della IAMAI (International Association in Mathematics and Art - Italy).
Alessandra Capanna, architect, PhD, researched in Architectural and Urban Composition at the Architecture Department of the Sapienza University of Rome. She teaches Architectural Design. She has written essays and monographs, held seminars on the relationship between mathematics, music and architecture. Corresponding editor (2009-2013) for the “Nexus Network Journal. Architecture and Mathematics on-line”, she is part of the board of professors withing the PhD program in Architectue and Construction (DRACo) and the scientific and educational board of the Master porgram in Theatre and Television Scenography of the Sapienza Unviersity in Rome. Since 2007 she has been collaborating with the Italian Encyclopaedia Institute (Treccani). She is one of the founders of the IAMAI dia italiana (Treccani). Giampiero Mele, architetto, professore associato di Disegno presso la Facoltà di Lettere dell’Università degli Studi eCampus dove è direttore di quattro Master di primo livello, PhD in rilievo e rappresentazione dell’architettura e dell’ambiente e in projet architecturale et urbain. Ha insegnato nelle facoltà di Architettura di Firenze, Ferrara, alla facoltà di Architettura e Società e di Design del Politecnico di Milano. Ha scritto saggi e monografie, tenuto seminari e conferenze sul tema delle relazioni fra rilievo, geometria e aritmetica nell’architettura storica. Altri campi di ricerca riguardano il disegno dell’architettura, del design e la geometria descrittiva. Fondatore e presidente della IAMAI (International Association in Mathematics and Art - Italy).
Giampiero Mele, architect, associate professor in Design at the Department of Humanities of the eCampus University, where he is the director of four Master programs. He has PhD in field studies and architectural and environmental representation as well as in projet architecturale et urbain. He has taught at the Universities of Florence, Ferrara, and at the Department or Architecture and Society of the Polytechnic University of Milan. He has written essays and monographs, held seminars and conferences on the relationship between field study, geometry and arithmetics in historical architecture. Other fields of research concern architectural design, design and descriptive geometry. Founder and president of IAMAI (International Association in Mathematics and Art - Italy).
