Trinity.

HEY rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy,

TLord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to

come.

And he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him; and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matt. iii.

There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one. 1 John v.

The Invocation.

O Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, Eternal Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Glory be to thee, O Lord, Most High.

Prayer for Trinity.

EFORE thee, O sacred Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, three persons and one God, we bow down. Το thee be praise, eternal Father, who madest us out of nothing, and preparest us for thyself. To thee be praise, O increated Son, who hast redeemed us by thy blood, and opened for us the gates of heaven. To thee be praise, O Holy Ghost, who hast sanctified us by thy grace, and consecrated us as temples to our God. Glory, glory, glory, be to thee O God most high. Amen.

During the week following the Feast of Trinity, one of the weeks near to the Festival of St. Matthew is an Ember Week.

Sentences and Psalms, &c. relating to the Offices, Sufferings, and Glory of Christ, alluded to on days mentioned in the Calendar, as "The Transfiguration," &c.

OR our conversation is in heaven, from whence we also

change our vile body, that it may be made like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself. Phil. iii.

God hath highly exalted him, and given him a Name which is above every name; that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Ib.

From the rising up of the sun to the going down of the same shall his Name be praised.

God forbid that I should glory, save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Gal. vi.

Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Mark viii.

St. John Baptist.

HE voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye

The Annunciation, &c. of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

LESSED is she that believed; for there shall be a

Apostles, &c.

NOW therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,

but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. And are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone. Eph. ii.

Appropriate Psalms.-xix. xlvii. xcix.

(Or if an Evangelist) Ps. xlv. instead of xlvii.

On these days the "Te Deum" (pp. 17, 31), and one of the Prayers for Festivals, should be always said.

Martyrs, &c.

BLESSED is the The shall receive the crown of life,

LESSED is the man that endureth temptation; for

which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James i.

Though he was punished among men, yet was his hope full of immortality. How is he numbered with the children of God, and his lot is among the saints! Wisd. ii. and v.

If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall my servant be. John xii.

The souls of the righteous are in the hands of God, and no torment shall touch them. Wisd. iii.

Whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matt. x.

For the Holy Innocents.

These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth; these were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb. Rev. xiv.

Appropriate Psalms.―iv. xi. xxi. xxxiii. xxxiv. xlvi.—(i. iv. viii. xv.) (See Rev. vii. 14, &c.)

St. Michael and All Angels.

Tindal angels, and the Lord is among them, as in HE chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thou

the Holy Place of Sinai. Ps. lxviii.

Are they not all ministering Spirits, sent forth to minister for them that shall be heirs of salvation. Heb. i.

All Saints' Day.

THE Lord my God shall come, and all thy saints with

thee. Zech. xiv.

And another angel came, and stood at the altar, having a golden censer, and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints, upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Rev. viii.

Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints. Rev. xv. Appropriate Psalms.-xv. xxxii. xxxiv. xcvii. cxlv. cxlix. On this day the "Benedicite” (p. 5), and one of the Prayers for the Festivals following, should always be said.

PRAYERS FOR FESTIVALS.

A Prayer to be said upon the Days of the memory of Apostles, Martyrs, &c.

ETERNAL God, to whom do live the spirits of them that depart hence in the Lord, and in whom the souls of them that be elected after they be delivered from the burden of the flesh, be in peace, and rest from their labours, and their works follow them, and their memory is blessed; We bless and magnify thy holy and ever-glorious Name, for the great grace and blessing manifested to thy Apostles and Martyrs, and other holy persons, who have glorified thy Name in the days of their flesh, and this day we have thy servant [name the Apostle, &c.] in remembrance; whom thou didst lead through the troubles and temptations of this world; and hast lodged in the bosom of a certain hope and great beatitude until the day of restitution of all things. Blessed be thy mercy and eternal goodness, O God; and the memory of all thy saints is blessed. Teach us to practise their doctrine, to imitate their lives, following their example, and being united as a part of the same mystical body by the band of the same faith, and a holy hope, and a never-ceasing charity. And may it please thee of thy gracious goodness shortly to accomplish the number of thine elect, and to hasten thy kingdom, that we with this thy servant, and all others departed in the true faith and fear of
