Paris: Chez Iean Millot, 1612

EXCESSIVELY RARE. FINE COPY. Regarding the number of maps rightfully belonging to this issue Sabin is in doubt as to whether there should be 3 or 4. In the present copy the maps of "Port Royal," "Port de Ganabara" and the "Grande Riviere de Canada," ARE ALL ORIGINALS, while the map of Florida and the country north, which is apparently an additional map laid in, is in facsimile. The Brinley copy with which the present agrees throughout contained three maps only.

THIS IS THE FIRST HISTORY OF THE FRENCH SETTLEMENTS IN CANADA and is highly esteemed, not only for its great veracity, but as the work of a candid and intelligent writer. "Lescarbot has collected with much care all that had been written before him relating to the discoveries of the French in America and all that passed in French Florida," etc.Charlevoix.
