The Author: Dr. Naji B. Oueijan chaired the Department of English at the Lebanese University from 1989 to 1991, and is currently an associate professor of English at Notre Dame University, Lebanon. Dr. Oueijan investigates the historical relations between England and the East, and the impact of these relations on the development of the image of the East and Islam in the literature of the periods surveyed.
