Rhetorical Argumentation in Philo of AlexandriaScholars Press, 1999 - 302 pagine Alexandre's study of Philo began in 1980 and was informed by the shift in the field of rhetoric away from style and ornamentation toward theories of argumentation. He finds that the commentator on the Jewish scriptures had thoroughly mastered the conventions of the art. His account is revised slightly from the Portuguese Argumentacao Retorica em Filon de Alexandria published by Instituto Nacional de Investigacao Cientifica in 1990.
