The manuscript has two notes in the hand of Mr. Brett-Smith, editor of the " Percy Reprints." Sir Alexander Boswell, son of James Boswell, Johnson's biographer, settled at Auchinleck, where he established a private press. He published poetical and antiquarian writings, and issued a series of reprints of old poems.
