FIRST EDITION ON LARGE PAPER. Extremely rare on large paper and in old morocco. A valuable and interesting work which was a great favourite with Dr. Samuel Johnson. The authorship has been attributed to Dean Swift, but it is always included in the standard editions of Defoe.

Laid down on the fly-leaf is an A. N, s., from Charles Dickens to Augustus Mayhew, dated Gad's Hill Place. Twenty Fourth October, 1866, 1 p. 12mo. On the fly-leaf at the end is laid down an A. L. s., 1 p., 12mo., from George Augustus Sala to his "Beloved." This latter is of quite a humorous character.
