HYMN CXLVI. P. M.

Come and welcome to Jesus Christ, Isaiah lv. 1.

R. S.

OME ye sinners, poor and wretched,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore!

Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity join'd with pow'r;
He is able,

He is willing: Doubt no more!

2 Come, ye thirsty, come and welcome;
God's free bounty glorify :

True belief, and true repentance,
Ev'ry grace that brings us nigh-
Without money,

Come to Jesus Christ and buy.

3 Let not conscience make you linger,
Nor of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness he requireth,
Is to feel your need of him;
This he gives you;

'Tis his Spirit's rising beam. 4 Come, ye weary, heavy laden.

Lost and ruin'd by the fall! If you tarry till you're better, You will never come at all: Not the righteous,

Sinners Jesus came to call.

5 View him prostrate in the garden; On the ground your Maker lies!

On the bloody tree behold him; Hear him cry, before he dies, "It is Finish'd;

Sinner, will not this suffice?

6 Saints and angels, join'd in concert
Sing the praises of the Lamb:
While the blissful seats of heaven
Sweetly echo with his name.
Hallelujah!

Sinners, here may sing the same.

HYMN CXLVIII. C. M..

My God shall supply all your need. Phil. iv. 19, 20.

R. S.

1 MY God, how cheerful is the sound!

How pleasant to repeat ?

Well may that heart with pleasure bound,
Where God hath fix'd his seat.

2 What want shall not our God supply
From his redundant stores?.
What streams of mercy from on high
An arm almighty pours!

3 From Christ, the ever-living spring,
These ample blessings flow:
Prepare my lips, his name to sing,
Whose heart has lov'd us so.

4 Now to our Father and our God,
Be endless glory giv❜n

Through all the realms of man's abode.
And through' the highest heav'n.

HYMN CXLIX.

C. M.

Fear not, it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom, Luke xii. 32.

1 YE little flock, whom Jesus feeds,

Dismiss your anxious cares;

Look to the Shepherd of your souls,
And smile away your fears.

2 Tho' wolves and lions prowl around,
His staff is your defence:

R. S.

'Midst sands and rocks yourShepherd's voice Calls streams and pastures thence.

3 Your Father will a kingdom give,
And give it with delight;

His feeblest child his love shall call
To triumph in his sight.

4 Ten thousand praises, Lord, we bring
For sure supports like these:
And o'er the pious dead we sing
The loving promises.

5 For all we hope, and they enjoy,

We bless a Saviour's name;

Nor shall that stroke disturb the song,
Which breaks this mortal frame.

HYMN CL. C. M.

The Incarnation of Christ, Luke ii. 14.

R. S.

1 MORTALS, awake, with angels join,

And chaunt the solemn lay:

N

Joy, love and gratitude combine
To hail th' auspicious day.

2 In heav'n the rapt'rous song began,
And sweet seraphic fire,
Thro' all the shining regions ran,
And strung and tun'd the lyre.

3 Swift thro' the vast expanse it flew,
And loud the echo roll'd;

The theme, the song, the joy was new,
'Twas more than heav'n could hold.

4 Down thro' the portals of the sky
The impetuous torrent ran;
And angels flew with eager joy
To bear the news to man.

5 [Wrapt in the silence of the night
Lay all the eastern world,
When bursting, glorious, heav'nly light
The wond'rous scene unfurl'd.]

6 Hark! the cherubic armies shout,
And glory leads the song;
Good-will and peace are heard throughout
Th' harmonious heav'nly throng.

7 [0 for a glance of heav'nly love
Our hearts and songs to raise!
Sweetly to bear our souls above,
And mingle with their lays !]

'8 With Joy the chorus we'll repeat,
"Glory to God on high;

"Good-will and peace are now complete, "Jesus was born to die."

9 Hail Prince of life, forever hail! Redeemer, brother, friend!

Tho' earth, snd time, and life should fail, Thy praise shall never end.

HYMN CLI. C. M.

The condescending grace of Christ, Matt. xx. 28.

1 SAVIO

R. S.

AVIOUR of men, and Lord of love,
How sweet thy gracious name!

With joy that errand we review,
On which thy mercy came.

2 While all thy own angelic bands
Stood waiting on the wing,
Charm'd with the honour to obey
Their great eternal King.

3 For us, mean wretched, sinful men,
Thou laid'st that glory by ;

First in our mortal flesh to serve,
Then in that flesh to die.

4 Bought with thy service and thy blood,
We doubly, Lord, are thine;
To thee our lives we would devote
To thee our death resign.

HYMN CLII. 78.

The Resurrection and Ascension.

ANGELS, roll the rock away,

Death yield up thy mighty prey:
