Loud anthems raise, and praises sing,
With an united voice.

2 In heav'n above his throne is set,
He rules the num❜rous host;

Angels fall down at his bless'd feet,
In adoration lost.

3 Behold him leave his lofty throne,
To sinful men come down;
Appear in human like our own,
But still he wears the crown.

4 His sov❜reign pow'r from sea to sea,
Extends and shall be known;
To form his church his care will be,
Where he shall reign alone.

HYMN XXVÍ. P. M.

1 HOS

Hosannah to the Lord.

TOSANNAH to our King,
Jehovah, Jesus, Lord,
All creatures join and sing,

Let heav'n and earth record;

M. SIBLY,

Let all bow down before his throne,
He wears the crown, as king alone.

2 Hosannah to our King,

Who saves our souls from death;
His praises we will sing,

While we have life and breath:
His worthy deeds shall fill our tongues,
His praise exceeds all human songs.

3 Hosannah to our King,

His wond'rous name record:
He doth salvation bring,

And seals it with his word:
We bless his name, his grace receive,
Exalt his fame, and to him live.
4 Hosannah we will raise,

In highest strains above;
The King of kings to praise,

And shout his matchless love;
The angels join their tuneful voice;
The Church combine, and all rejoice,

HYMN XXVII.

S. M.

The Lord all in all.

M. SIBLY

1 B come let us prostrate fall;

EFORE our Maker's throne,

The source of wisdom humbly own,
Of life and heav'n the all.

2 All glory is his due,

The light of heav'n above;

With endless honours crown him too,
The fount of light and love.

3 His love divinely glows,

Delights to save our race;
His truth forever freely flows,
That all may know his grace.
4 Before our Master's throne,
Then let us prostrate fall;

At his bless'd feet cast down our crown,
And own him all in all.

HYMN XXVIII.

1 JESUS

Invitation to Jesus.

ESUS our condescending I
Invites his creatures home
His call is heard from his ow
And all may freely come.

2 He calls to ev'ry lab'ring sou
The heavy laden mind;
Delights to make the wounde
And shew he's good and k

3 His tender loving heart expa
To give our souls true rest
To lead us by his mighty ha
Till we are fully blest.

4 Jesus we come to thee alone,
Attend thy heav'nly call ;
And whilst we prostrate at tl
We own thee Lord of all.

[blocks in formation]

The hungry soul shall surely know,
He feeds with living bread.

S The thirsting mind to satisfy,
Pours forth the heav'nly wine;
And all who ask he'll well supply
With good and truth divine.

4 Dear Lord what off'ring can we make,
For love so rich and free?
Henceforth we sin and self forsake,
And live alone to thee.

HYMN XXX. C. M.

The Lord our help in our journey thro' the wil

derness.

M. SIBLY.

1 THROUGH deserts wild, we're call'd to

But Jesu's hand is near, [go, He'll guard us all the journey through, Why should we yield to fear.

2 And whilst we travel on the way,
He gives a full supply;

Gives equal strength unto the day,
Lest we should faint and die.

3 With all that's holy, good, and true,
He nourishes our frame;
Our inner man he does renew,
And all our outer tame.

A Arise my soul, press on thy road,
Thy journey will be o'er;

Soon will appear the mount of God,
And Canaan's happy shore.

5 At most these labours can endure
But this short dreary way,
Our Jesus soon will ope the door
To everlasting day.

HYMN XXXI. L. M.

The fears of the little flock removed.

Luke xii. 50.

M. SIBLY.

1 YE little flock with fears opprest,

Your Saviour comes to give you rest;
He comes to chase the clouds away,
And usher in the perfect day.

2 Tho' small your state of faith and love,
His own he cannot disapprove;

Regard not what your foes may say,
There's nought shall turn his heart away.

3 Your Father's love remains the same,
To save your souls his heart doth flame:
His pleasure is, to share his own
With you, and seat you on his throne.

4 To you the kingdom he will give,
Where in his presence you shall live;
Enjoy his smiles, his goodness prove,
And feast upon unchanging love.
