Fanshawe's original poems include The Escuriall, with the lines "The Sallow late found Indian comes to worke, From a new world;"' On his Majesties Great Shippe lying almost finisht in Woolwick Docke, 1637; Sonnets; and a Translation of "The Fourth Booke of Virgill's Aeneis. On the Loves of Dido and Aeneas." Includes also two poems by Thomas Carew, with Fanshawe's Latin version of them. Contemporary signatures of W. and Mary Pawlett on titles.

The first page has the coat of arms of the Fáczonyi family finely painted in gold, silver and colors, and surmounted by the royal arms of Hungaria; each page surrounded by ornamental borders in pen and ink, and the first two pages of the text entirely written in gold letters. This document is a fine specimen of the art of penmanship.
