The first half of this book is a translation from Peter Martyr, the First Historian of the New World, of his first three Decades. The last half of the volume consists of valuable matter collected and translated by Richard Eden from other books. These comprise, among others,

"The Vyage rounde about the worlde," translated from Maximillan, of Transylvania.

"What maner of man Christopher Colon was, and how he Came Fyrst to the knowledge of the Indies."

This volume is one of the most important of early English books on America, being the first collection of Voyages in English, and mostly compiled from the Writings of the First Historian of Columbus and his Discovery of America.
