SHAKESPEARIANA, etc. A Collection of Upwards of Seventy-four folio play bills issued by the Theatre Royal Covent Garden between Dec. 29th, 1806, and Dec. 23rd, 1836, embracing numerous Shakesperian and other Plays Illustrated with folding colored caricature and other rare original engravings and autograph letters inserted in a folio scrap book, bound in half red

morocco.

A fine collection formed by the late AUGUSTUS DALY and presented by him with autograph inscription to his brother Jos. F. DALY. Among the SHAKESPEARIAN BILLS may be noted:

C. Kemble's first appearance as Falstaff; as Benedick in Much Ado about Nothing; as Hamlet, Oct. 4, 1824; as Orlando in As You Like It, Dec. 10, 1824; as Leonatus Posthumous in Cymbeline, June 2, 1825, in Othello as Cassio, 1827; as Romeo, Oct. 3, 1828; Kean as King Lear, 1828; Shylock, 1830, with Fanny Kemble as Portia; as Faulconbridge in King John 1831 as Henry VIII in Shakespeare's Tragedy "for the first time these six years'' 1831, etc.

The prints include rare colored caricatures, portraits and autographs including endorsed check by Kemble, etc.

FINE COPY OF THE SUPPRESSED COLLECTION OF SHELLEY LETTERS, DISPUTED AS FORGERIES IN THE ATHENAEUM.

The publisher suppressed the book and called in every copy procurable within one month after publication. This celebrated literary forgery is believed to be the work of George Byron, natural son of Lord Byron and the Maid of Athens.

The genuine First Issue of the FIRST EDITION, in rare condition, having the half-title and the extra leaf between "A2" and "Bi" containing "Errata" on one side and the "Dramatis Personae" on the other. This leaf was evidently an afterthought, caused by errors being discovered in the text during publication. It is almost always wanting. The Halsey copy.

It also has the catchword "Epi” at end of last page of play, followed by the leaf of "Epilogue, "which is generally lacking.
