ACCEPT our prayers and praises, we beseech thee, O Lord ; pardon all our iniquities; and do thou bestow upon us those things which shall be good for us, of thy great mercy; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who taught us, when we pray, thus to say:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Then a Psalm may be sung.

THE BENEDICTION.

THE grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.—2 Cor. xiii. 14.

First Sunday of the Month.

AFTERNOON SERVICE.

The Congregation being assembled, the Minister

may recite one or more of these Sentences.

T OOK unto me and be ye saved, all the U ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.—Isa. xlv.

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry?. All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth ; but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Wash you, make you clean: put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes ; cease to do evil ; learn to do well.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.—Isa. xl.

Or the following :

THE Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved. The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.—Ps. xcix.

(Invitation :) Brethren, dearly beloved in the Lord, let us, with humble and contrite hearts, draw near to the throne of grace, in the name of our great High-Priest and Mediator, Jesus Christ, Let us pray.

INTRODUCTORY PRAYER.

LORD, our Heavenly Father, who hast commanded us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, be pleased to bless and sanctify our present meeting; that, by thy Word and Spirit, our minds may be enlightened, our hearts cleansed, and our wills directed to keep thy holy commandments; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord : my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee: in whose heart are thy ways. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.-Isa. xl.
