Lord will give grace and glory: no good will

he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that

trusteth in thee.—Ps. lxxxiv.

O GoD, thou Father of lights, and fountain of all wisdom and knowledge, we thank thee that thou hast sent thy Son Jesus Christ into the world to enlighten our darkness, and to guide us in the ways of truth and righteousness. May we hear his voice; may we know and embrace the doctrine which he hath taught us; may we render a willing obedience to his precepts; may we follow his example; and, finally, may we receive those exceeding great and precious promises which he hath given us. Grant this, we beseech thee, O Lord, through the same Jesus Christ, who is our Prophet, our

Priest, and our King. Amen.

DEAL bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

I am a stranger in the earth; hide not thy commandments from me.

Thy testimonies are my delight and my counsellors. Amen.-.Ps. cxix. 17-20.

Then the Scriptures may be read, and a Psalm

may be sung.

Let us pray. M Y soul cleaveth unto the dust : quicken M thou me, according to thy word.

Teach me the way of thy statutes ; and I shall keep it unto the end.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken me in thy way.-Ps. cxix. 25.

O God, whose Word is quick and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, grant unto us who are here before thee, and to all thy people everywhere, that we may receive thy truth into our hearts, in faith and love. By it may we be taught and guided, upheld and comforted; that we be no longer children in understanding, but grow to the stature of per

fect men in Christ Jesus, and be prepared for every good word and work: to the honour of thy name, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

THE heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language; their voice is not heard. Their instruction is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart : the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold : sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned : and in keeping of them is great reward.

Who can understand his errors ? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my Redeemer.-Ps. xix.

LET thy good Spirit of grace and wisdom dwell in our hearts, and guide us in all our words and works, we humbly entreat thee, O Lord : that our speaking and hearing at this time may be unto our edification and profit, and to the glory of thy great name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then may follow the Sermon, and a Psalm may

be sung.

Let us pray.
GOD, everlasting and almighty, whose

grace hath appeared to all men, bringing salvation; teach us to deny ungodliness
