Let us pray.

INTRODUCTORY PRAYER.

LMIGHTY and most merciful Father, we bless thy holy name, that we are permitted to approach thy presence in faith and hope, through Jesus Christ, our great High-Priest and Mediator; assured that thou art the hearer of prayer, and that thou wilt bestow upon us all things needful, whether for the body or the soul, for the life that now is, and that which is to come.

Amen.

Thou art my hiding-place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.-Ps. xxxii.

O God, almighty and everlasting, who didst proclaim thy law from Mount Sinai, in terrible majesty, we bless thee that the thunder, and the earthquake, and the fire, are now past, and that we are permitted to hear thy still small voice, speaking to us in the gospel of thy grace.

Deliver us, O Lord, from the spirit of bondage and fear; and shed thy love abroad in our hearts by thy Holy Spirit; that we may serve thee with joy and peace, hoping for thy glorious
