They which be of Faith are blessed with Faithful Abraham.

THE HELPFUL THOUGHT

-Gal. 3:9.

Duty, be it in a small matter or a great, is duty still; the command of Heaven; the eldest voice of God, and it is only they who are Faithful in a few things who will be Faithful over many things; only they who do their duty in everyday and trivial matters who will fulfil them on great occasions.

Charles Kingsley.

THE HELPFUL THOUGHT

Now Faith when in proper exercise does two things: first, it reckons that a position belongs to it which we do not feel, but which it dares to claim on the warrant of God's Word. Second, it lays hold on the of God to make that position a reality

THE HELPFUL THOUGHT

That mind and soul, according well

THE HELPFUL THOUGHT

Trust the Lord: trust Him about every one and everything, for all times and all needs. -Thorold.

Think how the blessedness of that world of unbroken rest will be enhanced by the trials and struggles, the tossings and tribulations which went before, when life's tempestuous sea, wherein Faith and fortune were oft well-nigh shipwrecked, is exchanged for

the haven of peace, where not one wave of

trouble is ever after to roll.

-Macduff.

THE SACRED TEXT

11

Ye should earnestly contend for the Faith which was once delivered unto the saints. -Jude 3.

THE HELPFUL THOUGHT

Faith provides for every affection, every want and aspiration. It stretches itself over humanity as the prophet stretches himself above the child, eye to eye, mouth to mouth, heart to heart; and to work a kindred miracle, to bring back life to the dead, by restoring the one to the one, the whole nature of man to the whole nature of God.
