Hymn.

Preparation for Heaven.

1 LOVE divine, all loves excelling!
Joy of heav'n! to earth come down ;
Fix in us Thy humble dwelling,
All Thy faithful mercies crown!
JESUS, Thou art all compassion:
Pure, unbounded love Thou art:
Visit us with Thy salvation;
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.

2 Come, Almighty to deliver,
Let us all Thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,

Never more Thy temples leave:
Thee we would be always blessing;
Serve Thee as Thy hosts above;
Pray, and praise Thee without ceasing,
Glory in Thy perfect love.

3 Finish, then, Thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see Thy great salvation,
Perfectly restor❜d in Thee;
Chang'd from glory into glory,

Till in heav'n we take our place;
Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!

Hymn.

Dedication with Covenant.

1 COME, let us use the grace divine,
And all with one accord,
In a perpetual cov❜nant join
Ourselves to CHRIST the LORD;

2 Give up ourselves, through JESU's pow'r,
His Name to glorify;
And promise in this sacred hour
For GOD to live and die.

3 The cov❜nant we this moment make
Be ever kept in mind:

We will no more our GOD forsake,
Or cast His words behind.

4 We never will throw off His fear,
Who hears our solemn vow:
And if Thou art well pleas'd to hear,
Come down, and meet us now!

5 Thee, FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST,
Let all our hearts receive!
Present with the celestial host,
The peaceful answer give!

6 To each the cov'nant-blood apply,
Which takes our sins away;
And register our names on high,
And keep us to that day!

Hymn.

Dedication.

1 LET Him to whom we now belong
His sov'reign right assert,
And take up ev'ry thankful song,
And ev'ry loving heart.

2 He justly claims us for His own,
Who bought us with a price:
The Christian lives to CHRIST alone,
To CHRIST alone he dies!

3 JESUS, Thine own at last receive,
Fulfil our heart's desire,
And let us to Thy glory live,
And in Thy cause expire.

4 Our souls and bodies we resign:
With joy we render Thee

1

2

Our all, no longer ours but Thine,
To all eternity.

Hymn.

Dedication and Communion.

THOUGH late I all forsake,
My all to Thee resign;

Gracious REDEEMER, take, O take
And seal me ever Thine.

Come and possess me whole,
Nor hence again remove :

Settle and fix my wav'ring soul,

With all Thy weight of love.

3 My one desire be this, Thy only love to know,

4

To seek and taste no other bliss,
No other good below.

My life, my portion Thou,
Thou all-sufficient art;

My hope, my heavenly treasure, now
Enter, and keep my heart.

Hymn.

Filial Fear.

1 BE it my only wisdom here,
To serve the LORD with filial fear,
With loving gratitude :
Superior sense may I display,
By shunning ev'ry evil way,
And walking in the good.

2 O may I still from sin depart!
A wise and understanding heart,
JESUS, to me be giv'n!

And let me through Thy SPIRIT know,
To glorify my GOD below,
And find my way to heav'n.

Hymn.

Fear and Hope blended.

1 I WAS a grov'lling creature once,
And basely cleav'd to earth;
I wanted spirit to renounce
The clod that gave me birth.

2 But GOD has breath'd upon a worm,
And sent me, from above,

Wings, such as clothe an angel's form,
The wings of joy and love.

3 With these to Pisgah's top I fly,
And there delighted stand,
To view, beneath a shining sky,
The spacious promis'd land.

4 The LORD of all the vast domain
Has promis'd it to me;

The length and breadth of all the plain,
As far as faith can see.

5 How glorious is my privilege!
To Thee for help I call;

I stand upon a mountain's edge,
O save me, lest I fall!

6 Though much exalted in the LORD,
My strength is not my own;
Then let me tremble at His Word,
And none shall cast me down.

Hymn.

Walking by Faith.

1 'TIS by the faith of joys to come We walk through deserts dark as night: Till we arrive at heav'n, our home,

Faith is our guide, and faith our light.

2 The want of sight she well supplies,
She makes the pearly gates appear;
Far into distant worlds she pries,
And brings eternal glories near.
