Venetiis: Aldus, 1520-21

* The rare second edition of Livy from the Aldine Press and the first in folio from the same press. This edition, according to Renouard, is very rare, especially complete in the four parts. The several parts forming this volume, having each their own pagination and imprint, are seldom found together. The Polybius, forming a distinct work in itself, is very often separated, and has become very rare. Some light water stains, otherwise a good and large copy, with the two rare blank leaves bearing the Aldine Anchor on the verso. The margins of the volume have numerous manuscript_notes, which are very similar to the handwriting of Pietro Bembo and Paolo Manuzio.
