"That the HOLY GHOST, proceeding from the FATHER and the Son, is of one substance, majesty, and glory, with the FATHER and the SON, VERY AND ETERNAL GOD.”—(Art. 5.) 7. Q. What does that mean? A. That the HOLY GHOST is of the Father and of the Son; and that such as the FATHER is, such is the SON, and such is the HOLY GHOST." The FATHER eternal, the SoN eternal, and the HOLY GHOST eternal." "So likewise the FATHER is almighty, the Son almighty, and the HOLY GHOST almighty." 66 So the FATHER is GOD, the SON is GOD, and the HOLY GHOST is GOD; and yet there are not three Gods, but ONE GOD." 8. The HOLY GHOST is also called in Scripture, The SPIRIT OF CHRIST. "Ye are not in the flesh, but in THE SPIRIT, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwelleth in you. Now, if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of His."-Rom. viii. 9.-1 Peter i. 11. And, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD, is THE LORD. "Where the SPIRIT OF THE LORD is, there is liberty. Now, THE LORD is that SPIRIT."-2 Cor, iii. 17. 18. (comp. St. John xiv. 16. and St. Matt. xxviii. 20.) 9. Q. What more do you learn in the Bible, respecting the HOLY GHOST? A. The Bible teaches that, since the HOLY GHOST is GOD, HE IS ETERNAL. "How much more shall the blood of CHRIST, who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?"-Heb. ix. 14. It teaches also: That the Holy Ghost is ALMIGHTY. "The SPIRIT OF GOD hath made me; and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”—Job xxxiii. 4. -Ps. xxxiii. 6.-Gen. i. 2. That HE IS EVERY WHERE. Whither shall I go from THY SPIRIT? or, whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into Heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in Hell, behold, Thou art there."-Ps. cxxxix. 7.-Job xxvi. -Jer. xxiii. 24.-Jonah i. 3. And in the Bible we learn, That the HOLY GHOST SEARCHES AND KNOWS ALL THINGS. 'As it is written, eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His SPIRIT ; for the SPIRIT SEARCHETH ALL THINGS, yea, the deep things of GOD."-1 Cor. ii, 9. 10.—St. John xiv. 26, xvi. 13.-1 John ii. 27. 10. Q.
