the second campaign, the assassination period, and the Lincoln centennial. These medals are in great variety, embracing busts, bas-reliefs, and other portraits, and are made of silver, bronze, copper, white metal, and other material.

Among the Lincoln relics are the following: A cane presented to the President and given, after his death, by Mrs. Lincoln to Carpenter, the artist; a lock of Lincoln's hair, and two chairs used by the President in the White House. Among the literary material are scarce broadsides, extra-illustrated books, eulogies, sermons, and memorial addresses, and a large number of important letters about Lincoln written by the prominent men of the period.
