We are saved
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ: if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the suffer. ings of this present time, are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall berevealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope : 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for : 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. - 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the

It is God that justifieth ; 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword & 36 (As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the

25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them My people, which were not my people; and her Belovcd, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to 1 that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called, The children of the living God. 27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sca, a remnant shall be saved : 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness; because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had becn as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. 30 What shall we say then : That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attaincti to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith; 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32. Wherefore?.. Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law: for they stumbled at that stumbling-stone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling-stone, and rock of ostence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be

altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4. But what saith the answer of God unto him : I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then, at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 7 What then Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtainedit, and the rest were blinded; 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompence unto them : 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid : but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now, if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fulness :
13 For I speak to you, Gentiles; inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office;

Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heedlest he also spare not thee. . 22 Behold, therefore, the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graff. ed in : for God is able to graff them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out ofthe olive-tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive-tree; how much more shall these which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive-tree ? 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, (lest ye should be wise
