Land purge away my sin:
purge

ORD Jesus, think on me

From earth-born passions set me free,
And make me pure within.

Lord Jesus, think on me

With many a care oppressed;
Let me Thy loving servant be,
And taste Thy promised rest.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
Nor let me go astray;
Through darkness and perplexity
Point Thou the heavenly way.

Lord Jesus, think on me,

That, when the flood is past,
I may the eternal brightness sec,
And share Thy joy at last.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
That I may sing above

To Father, Holy Ghost, and Thee
The songs of praise and love.

UST as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not

To rid my soul of one dark blot,

To Thee, Whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears, within, without,

O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind,
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find,

O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am-Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
Because Thy promise I believe—

O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am-Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down-
Now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,

O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love

The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove Here for a season, then above,

O Lamb of God, I come.

H! help us, Lord; each hour of need
Thy heavenly succour give,

Help us in thought, and word, and deed,
Each hour on earth we live.

Oh! help us when our spirits bleed
With contrite anguish sore;

And when our hearts are cold and dead,
Oh! help us, Lord, the more.

Oh! help us, through the prayer of faith
More firmly to believe;

For still the more the servant hath,
The more shall he receive.

Oh! help us, Saviour, from on high;
We know no help but Thee:

Oh! help us so to live and die
As Thine in heaven to be.

SAVIOUR, when in dust to Thee

Low we bow the adoring knee,
When, repentant, to the skies
Scarce we lift our weeping eyes,
Oh! by all the pains and woe
Suffered once for man below,
Bending from Thy throne on high,
Hear our solemn litany!

By Thy helpless infant years,
By Thy life of want and tears,
By Thy days of sore distress
In the savage wilderness,
By the dread mysterious hour
Of the insulting tempter's power,
Turn, oh! turn a favouring eye,
Hear our solemn litany !

By the sacred griefs that wept
O'er the grave where Lazarus slept,
By the boding tears that flowed
Over Salem's loved abode,

By the anguished sigh that told
Treachery lurked within Thy fold,
From Thy seat above the sky
Hear our solemn litany!

By Thine hour of dire despair,
By Thine agony and prayer,
By the Cross, the nail, the thorn,
Piercing spear, and torturing scorn,
By the gloom that veiled the skies
O'er the dreadful sacrifice,
Listen to our humble cry,
Hear our solemn litany!

81

By Thy deep expiring groan,
By the sad sepulchral stone,
By the vault whose dark abode
Held in vain the rising God,

Oh! from earth to heaven restored,
Mighty re-ascended Lord,

Listen, listen to the cry

Of our solemn litany!

LORD

ORD, in this Thy mercy's day:
Ere it pass for aye away,

On our knees we fall and pray.

Holy Jesus, grant us tears,

Fill us with heart-searching fears,
Ere that awful doom appears.

Lord, on us Thy Spirit pour,
Kneeling lowly at the door,
Ere it close for evermore.

By Thy night of agony,
By Thy supplicating cry,
By Thy willingness to die,

By Thy tears of bitter woe

For Jerusalem below,

Let us not Thy love forego.

Grant us 'neath Thy wings a place,

Lest we lose this day of grace,
Ere we shall behold Thy face.
