1879. The author endeavored to make these sketches of distinguished Freemasons truthful, and as far as possible free from anything approaching undue flattery. They are complimentary, but by no means too highly colored. Mr. Abbott's object was to present a plain, unvarnished record of what some of the most distinguished among his Brother Masons did since they joined the ranks of the Fraternity.
