The several editions, so promptly sold, have led me to hope, that, through your influence, this volume has been productive of good. It has been my aim in it, to have continual reference to those high and sacred purposes of religion which you would desire to cherish and recommend. To you therefore this volume is respectfully dedicated as the expression of an earnest wish to advance the spirit of true devotion and evangelical christianity.
