FIRST EDITION. A MOST INTERESTING COPY, BEING A PRESENTATION COPY FROM THE AUTHOR, with inscription on fly-leaf. There is also a quotation from Horace written on the title-page, by the author.

The volume is further enhanced with pen-and-ink drawings on margins and fly-leaves at front and end, WHICH BEAR EVERY EVIDENCE OF BEING BY SURTEES HIMSELF. Of these humorous sketches there are no less than 22, some of which bear captions in Surtees' hand.
