This scene as described by Dickens is fully represented in the drawing which appears on pages 204 of the work. A transcription of the letter, and the leaf containing the woodcut, have been bound in.

Boston: James R. Osgood and Co., 1877 BOTH VERY SCARCE, and justly considered the FIRST EDITIONS PROCURABLE, as the real First Editions were privately printed, and no copies of the First Edition of the latter are extant, while of the former there are only 3 known copies. Both fine copies.

FIRST SEPARATE EDITION, limited to 85 copies, printed for Lowell M. Palmer. This sketch was to be a humorous version of a "New Piljians Projiss," to be published for the benefit of Leigh Hunt, but the project fell through.

This was at one time attributed to Dickens, on the strength of a page in his handwriting, bound with the original manuscript. It is now generally agreed that Dickens did not write this booklet.
