Arnold was accused of appropriating the public wagons of the State of Pennsylvania for his private use, together with John Mitchell, Deputy Quarter Master General. This piece constitutes the complete exhibit of letters and affidavits in the case laid before the Supreme Executive Council, together with the Proceedings in the case of Matthew Clarkson, Aide-de-Camp to General Arnold.

Evans located only one copy, that in the Library of Congress.

THE EXTREMELY RARE FIRST EDITION. The only copy cited by Sabin is that in the Harvard University library. In the general view of Illinois, occupying nearly 60 pages, will be found references to such rare works as Brackenridge's View of Louisiana, Ohio and Mississippi Navigator, Fulton's Treaties on Canals, Hennepin, Charlevoix, Tonti's account of the Voyage of La Salle, etc.

This edition contains the alterations which were intended to adapt the Book of Common Prayer, of the Church of England, to the changed political conditions in this country; and is the result of a convention held in Philadelphia, in 1785, presided over by the Rev. William White. The proposed Prayer Book met with such criticism and opposition in the church, owing to its radical changes, that it was never adopted.
