The second edition, containing 208 ballads and songs directed against the Puritans and Roundheads. As the first edition [1660] contained only 48 pieces, the edition catalogued is rather a new collection than a second edition. The volume is said to have been edited by Alexander Brome. Twelve of the poems contained in it were included among his poems, which were first published in 1661, and twenty are taken from the works of John Cleveland.
