Not my will, but Thine, be done.-Luke xxii. 42.

Be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.Romans xii. 2.

The trying of your faith worketh patience. -James i. 3.

The Lord direct your hearts unto the love of God, and unto the patience of Christ.— 2 Thessalonians iii. 5 (R.V.).

Be patient in tribulation.-Romans xii. 12.

In your patience possess ye your souls.Luke xxi. 19.

In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.-Isaiah xxx. 15.

Let us run with patience the race that is set before us.-Hebrews xii. 1.

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Behold, we count them happy who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.— James v. 10, II.

We... do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness. - Colossians i. 9-11.

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He

inclined unto me, and heard my cry.—Psalm xl. I.

Although the fig-tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.-Habakkuk iii. 17, 18.

A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.-Psalm xxxvii. 16.

Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his Maker? -Job iv. 17.

Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?-Genesis xviii. 25.

Go to now, ye that say, To-day or to

morrow we will go into such a city and continue there a year, and buy and sell and get gain :

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the

O LORD! when o'er our trembling hearts

Help Thou our unbelief!

When sorrows come, and joys are flown, And fondest hopes lie dead,

And blessings, long esteemed our own,

And when the promise of our spring

Is but a withered leaf,

To truth Divine still let us cling;

Help Thou our unbelief!

And when the powers of nature fail
Upon the couch of pain,

Nor love nor friendship can avail

The spirit to detain ;
