In the Name of the Holy and Undivided Trinity.

HE many fucceffive and repeated Negotiations for adjufting the Differences which happen'd after the Death of William III. King of Great Britain, of Glorious Memory, between his Majefty the King of Pruffia, and the moft Serene Houfe of Orange and Naffau, in Relation to the Principalities, Counties, Lands, Eftates, and Domains, defcended from the late Princes of Orange, and lafly from the faid King of Great Bri tain, made it too evident that they really wished to accommodate the fame in an amicable Manner, not to hope but that fooner or later the fame would be attended with Succefs, and confequently that they would at Jast be terminated to their mutual Satisfaction.

The Majority of his Moft Serene Highness the Prince of Orange and Nassau, occafioned Overtures which tens ded to renew the Conferences formerly holden for that Purpofe, and particularly the laft Negotiation begun at Berlin in 1722: His Majefty the King of Prussia anfwer'd favourably thereto, and the two contracting Par ties having nothing fo much at Heart, as to regulate at length, upon juft and reasonable Conditions, a Difpute which had lafted fo many Years, agreed to caufe Enquiry to be made what it ftuck at in 1722, and to make it, as it were, the Bafis of a new Negotiation.

It is therefore, in order to attain fo falutary an End, and to ftrengthen with new Ties the Bands of Kindred and Friendship, by which they are already united, that the Moft Serene and Moft Potent Prince and Lord Frederick-William, King of Pruffia, Margrave of Brandenburg, Arch-Chamberlain and Prince Elector of the Holy Ro man Empire, Sovereign Prince of Orange, Neufchatel and Valengin, Gelderland, Magdeburg, Cleves, Juliers, Berg, Stetin, Pomerania, the Caffubia's, the Vandals, and Mecklemburg; as alfo in Silefia, Duke of Croffen ; Bur grave of Neuremberg; Prince of Halberstadt, Minden, Camin, Vandalia, Swerin, Racheburg and Meurs; Count of Hohenzollern, Ruppin, La Mark, Ravensberg, Hohen Stein, Tecklemburg, Lingue, Swerin, Buuren and Leerdams Lord of Ravenftein, Roftock, Stargard, Lawenburg, Arlay, and Breda, & And the Moft Serene Prince and Lord

Maartenfdyk, Seevenbergen, Steenbergen, Upper and Lower Swaluwe, Naaltwyk, Grimbergen, Herftal, Arloy, Noferoy, S. Vith, Burgenbag, Daasburg, and Warneton;, Independent Lord of the Ifle of Amelandt, Hereditary Burgrave of Antwerp and Befangon, Hereditary Marthal of Holland, Stadtholder and Captain and Admiral General of Gelderland and the County of Zutphen, Hereditary Stadtholder and Captain-General of Friesland, Stadtholder and Captain-General of Groningen and the Ommelands, and of the Country of Drenthe, &c. have nominated and autho rized their Minifters, namely, his Majesty the King of Pruffia, his Minifters of State Lieutenant-General AdrianBernhard Von Borcke, Henry Von Podewils, and WilliamHenry Von Thulemeier; and his Most Serene Highness the Prince of Orange and Nassau, his Minifters Diderick Baron of Lynden, Lord of Parck, Brigadier and Colonel of a Regiment of Horfe, and Great Master of his Houfhold; Hobbe, Baron of Aylua, Colonel of a Regiment of Foot, his Mafter of the Horfe, and Droffaert of the County of Buuren; and John Duncan, his Counsellor in Ordinary, and Master of Requests, and Counsellor and Comptroller of his Domains; who having mutually conferred toge. ther, and exchanged their Full Powers, Copies whereof fhall be inferted at the End of this Treaty; and having refumed the Thread of the laft Negotiation at Berlin, and debated on what remained to be regulated, have agreed, in the Name of his Majesty and of the Most Serene Prince, their respective Mafters, on the following Articles and Conditions, viz.

I. An equal Partition of the faid Principalities, Counties, Domains, Lands, Houfes, and Effects, having been the Foundation of the preceding Negotiations, it was agreed fill to have Recourfe thereto, as the best Expedient for putting an End to all paft and future Contests; and all that remains to be adjusted, in order to regulate and perfect the Plan of Partition drawn in 1722, having been difcuffed, and carefully weighed, it was agreed, in order thereunto, in Manner as follows:

The Lord the King of Pruffia fhall have for his Share, the Principality of Orange, with the Lordships and Places of the Succeffion of Chalons and Chatel-Belin, fituate in France, and in the County of Burgundy, the whole in the Manner his Majefty yielded the Property thereof to the Moft Chriftian King, by the Treaty of Peace figned between him and France at Utrecht, the 11th Day of April 1713; and the Lord Prince of Orange and Naffau declares that he acquiefces with that Ceffion, fo that he will not trouble or moleft the Moft Chriftian King in the peaceable Poffeffion of the Principality of Orange, and the other Eftates above specify'd.

As his Majefty has engaged and promifed, on this Occafion, to fatisfy by an Equivalent the Pretenfion which the Heirs of the late Prince of Orange and Naffau made to the faid Principality and the other Eftates abovemention'd; the Moft Serene Prince declares for himself, and for his Heirs and Defcendants, Male and Female, that he does and will reft content, in that Refpect, with the Equivalent which he thall receive for his Share, as hereafter mention'd; fo that the Lord the King fhall not be obliged to make him any further Satisfaction on that Account, in any other Manner, or for any Reafon whatever.

The Lord the Prince fhall have the Liberty of giving the Name of Principality of Orange to any other of his Domains as he fhall think proper, and to retain the Title and Arms thereof, as well for himself as for his Heirs and Defcendants, Male and Female, in the Manner ftipulated in Favour of the faid Lord the King, by the Treaty afore mention'd; and his Majefty promifes and engages to use his good Offices, that the Moft Christian King may give his Confent thereto, in order to remove and take away every Thing which may occafion new Difputes. Provided however, that this fhall not be of any Prejudice to his Majefty the King of Pruffia, with regard to the Titles and Arms of Orange, which fhall be always continu'd in the Royal Family, Princes and Princeffes of Pruffia.

V. His Majefty the King of Prufia fhall have more for his Share, and keep as fole and whole Proprietor, as well for himfelf, as for his Heirs and Succeffors, the Principality of Meurs, the County of Lingen, the Ammany of Montfort, the Lordship of Upper and Lower Swaluwe, the Lordships of Naaltwyk, Hoenderland, Wateringen, Orange Polder, and 'sGravefande; the Tolls of

Gennep, the Barony of Herftal entire, the Lordship of Turnhout, the Houfe at the Hague call'd the Old Court, and the Houfe at Honflaardyk; and the Lord the King fhall enjoy the faid Eftates, Domains, Lands, and Houfes, with all their Appurtenances and Dependencies, Rights, Revenues, Juftices, Jurifdictions High and Low, Regal Rights, Prerogatives, and Pre-eminencies thereunto annexed, Tenths, Mills, and Dependencies which belong to the faid Lordships and Eftates, fituate and raifed in their Districts, which the Princes of Orange enjoy'd, without Exception or Distinction by which of the faid Princes they might be acquired; and with Regard to the Houfes, with the Furniture belonging to, and now actually in them; and the Lord the Prince does and fhall renounce, as well for himself, as for his Heirs and Defcendants, Male and Female, in Favour of his Majesty, and his Heirs and Defcendants, Male and Female, all the above mention'd Rights of Property, and others, to the faid Eftates, Domains, Lands, and Houfes; fo that neither he, nor his Heirs and Succeffors, fhall ever form any Pretenfions thereto, under any Title or Pretence whatfoever.

His Moft Serene Highness will likewife take Care, that as foon as the prefent Treaty is ratify'd, the Toll which has been hitherto gathered in the Town of Grave, under the Name of the Toll of Gennep, fhall entirely ceafe.

VI. The Lord the Prince fhall make no Pretenfion with Regard to the Ammany of Montfort, by Virtue of the Sentence of the Court of Ruremonde, of the 23d of April 1704; nor yet with Regard to the Principality of Meurs, the County of Lingen, and other Domains, Lands and Effects above mention'd, which the Lord the King now actually does, or fhall hereafter enjoy by Virtue of the prefent Treaty, under Pretence of having been improved or augmented, or upon Account of Provifions, Arrears, and Remainders of Accounts, which were due to the late King William and his Heirs, when his Majefty took Poffeffion of them; but all thofe Improvements, Augmentations, Provifions, Arrears, and Remainders of Accounts fhall likewife be to the Ufe of the Lord the King.

VII. The Lord the Prince of Orange and Nassau fhall have, for his Part, and fhall keep as fole and whole Proprietor, as well for himself, as for his Heirs and Succeffors, all the other Domains, Lands, Houfes and

Goods belonging to the Succeffion of Orange, as well thofe which are already deliver'd up to him, as thofe which are ftill under the Administration of their HighMightineffes the States-General of the United Provinces, or in the Hands of Foreigners, without any Exception; as alfo the Houfes which his Majesty the King of Pruffia actually enjoys, and which he fhall yield to him by Virtue hereof; and alfo all the Estates, Domains, Lands, and Houfes belonging to the Succeffion of Orange, which are not comprized in his Majefty's Part.

As firft, the Domains, Lands, Houfes and Goods which are already deliver'd up to his Moft Serene Highnefs, and which he is a&ually poffeffed of; namely, the Ammany of Bredenvoort, the Tenths of Buuren, the Lordship of Seevenbergen, the Hondenhuys at the Hague, the Tenths under Delft and Monfter, the Houfe call'd the Kruytberg, Colinplaat, and the other Eftates in Noordbeveland; the Barony of Yelftein, the Eftates in the Hulfter Ambacht, the Palace at Bruffels, the Barony of Dieft, the Lordship of Zichem and Scherpenheuvel, the Lordships of Roozendaal, Nifpen, Oosterhout, and Dongen; the Lordship of Steenbergen, the Lordship of Princeland, the Barony of Kranendonk, and the Lordfhip of Eindhoven.

And fecondly, the Domains, Lands, Houfes and Goods, which are ftill actually under the Administration of their High-Might ineffes the States-General of the United Provinces, or in the Hands of Foreigners, without any Exception; namely, the Houfe of Dieren, with its Appurtenances and Dependencies; the Houfe of Loo, with its Appurtenances and Dependencies; the Lordfhip of Klundert or Niervaart; the Lordfhip of Gertrudenburg, with its Appurtenances and Dependencies; the Marquifate of Ter-Veer and Flushing; the Lordship of S. Maartenfdyk.and Sherpeniffe; the Houfe of Soeftdyk, with its Appurtenances and Dependencies; the County of Buuren, the County of Leerdam and Acquoy, the Lordfhips of Grimbergen, Meerhout, and Voorft, the Burgraviate of Antwerp, the Barony of Breda, the Estates of the Commandery of Braque, the Barony of Grave and of the Country of Cuyk, the Lordship of Willemftad and Ruygenhill, the Estates of Weernhout, Vyanden, S. Vith, and Eutgenbach, Daasburgh, and Warneton.

The Lord the Prince, having, by the Fifth Article above, yielded to his Majesty the King of Pruffia, the
