Take a Break

Imagine a world in which everyone sought to follow the dying words of Buddha: "Make yourself a light." The intent of TAKE A BREAK is to let our light shine, to brighten the corner wherever we are, to take and to give the breaks we and others need: beauty, generosity, fear, laughter, doughnut, anger, affirmation, snippets and bits, unpleasantness, zest, choice, goodness, presence, praise, thanksgiving, restoration, love, prayer, mercy, life. Each chapter could be a workout in spiritual gym, tightening, strengthening, buffing our mental muscles, and helping us keep John Paul Sartre's "pact of generosity" with every human being. Although my conditioning is Judeo-Christian, my conviction is that we all: Jew, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, any who seek goodness and light, are children of our one Father, GOD.
