'Behold at that time I will undo all that afflict thee, and will fave her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out, and I will get them praise • and fame in every land where they have ⚫ been put to shame. At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather For I will make you a name, and a praise, among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, faith the Lord."

Though I make a 'full end of all nations whither I have fcattered thee, yet will I not make a full end ' of thee, but I will correct thee in meafure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.'

heathen, then fhall they dwell in their land that I have given to my fervant Ja'cob. And they shall dwell fafely therein, and fhall build houfes, and plant vineyards; yea they fhall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that defpife them round about; and they fhall know that I am 'Jehovah their God.'

The change of character that will take place in the Ifraelites in general, without. which they could not be proper objects of the Divine favour, is foretold, and happily expreffed, by this prophet, Ch. xxxvi. 25. For I will take you from among the Heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I fprinkle clean water

upon you, and ye fhall be clean. From all your filthinefs, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart alfo will I give you, and a new fpirit will I put within you; and I will take away the
