THE first volume of this Catalogue, issued in 1883, contained detailed descriptions of Classical Romances, British and English Traditions, and French Traditions, including the great cycles of Troy and Alexander, of King Arthur, and of Charlemagne, together with a number of other romantic works of miscellaneous character. The present volume, as the first, is the work of Mr. H. L. D. Ward, Senior Assistant of the Department.
