The words being viewed in their connection, analized and explained, there are
two doctrinal propofitions adduced, and feparately profecuted.

The FIRST is, "That fin is a very strong and powerful thing." And from this
obfervation, the following general heads of method are prosecuted, viz.

1. The nature of fin enquired into, and opened up,

The SECOND doctrine is, "That the law of works is the ftrength of fin to the
finner that hath violate and broken it." And from this propofition, the fol-
lowing general topics are propofed, viz.

1. Enquire what law is the ftrength of fin,

2. Shew what ftrength it is that fin hath from the law,

Ps.cvii.8. Nevertheless be faved them for his name's fake

The words being divided, explained, and fummed up in a doctrinal observation,
feveral propofitions laid down for clearing the doctrine, and parallel Tcrip-
tures adduced for illuftrating the truth of it, the following general heads of
method are infifted upon, viz.

1. What is that name of God, for the fake of which he faves,

2. What it is for God to fave for his name's fake,

3. What falvation he works for his name's fake,

JOHN iii. 35. The Father loveth the Son, and bath given

all things into his band.

After an introduction unto, a divifion, and explication of the words,
and laying down the doctrinal propofition, the following topics
of difcourfe are handled, viz.

1. The Father's love to the Son evinced, in two pofitions,

The Law of God's House,

EZEK. xliii. 2. This is the Law of the House; upon the

top of the mountain, the whole limit thereof round about

fhall be most holy; behold, this is the Law of the House.
