The xiii Bukes of Eneados of the famose Poete Virgill Translatet out of Latyne verses into Scottish metir, bi the Reuerend Father in God, Mayster Gawin Douglas Bishop of Dunkel & vnkil to the Erle of Angus. Border with garlands and cupids on the title-page; printed in black letter. Small 4to, green crushed levant morocco; back panels with frame of interlaced strapwork gilt tooled and inlaid in brown morocco, with central azured rosette; sides with elaborate border of similar strapwork and rosettes; doublures of green morocco with gilt double fillet border, old gilt edges; forwarded by THE CLUB BINDERY and finished by LÉON MAILLARD, 1904, for Robert Hoe, with the latter's monogram at the foot of the front doublure. In a morocco-edged slip case, with inner half morocco folder; small repaired marginal tear at the inner edge of the titleleaf and in leaves Q7, Q8, and bb3; marginal restoration at the top of leaf M7, with this and a few adjacent leaves somewhat soiled at the top; trifling piece trimmed from the lower margin of leaf t1; a few original paper defects. In a morocco-edged slip case, with inner half morocco slip case.
