but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.-Exod. 20:1, 3-17.

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.-Matt. 22: 36-39.

The Child's Patience

Ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.-Heb. 10:36.

Be patient toward all men.—1 Thess. 5:14. Be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.-2 Tim. 2:24.

Not greedy of filthy lucre, but patient.—1 Tim. 3:3.

Aged men be . . . sound in faith, in charity, in patience.-Titus 2:2.

Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.-1 Tim. 6:11.

Add . . . to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness.-2 Peter 1:5, 6.

In your patience possess ye your souls.Luke 21:19.

Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. -James 1:4.

Let us run with patience the race that is set before us.-Heb. 12: 1.

Patient in tribulation.-Rom. 12: 12.

If, when ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.I Pet. 2:20.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for

Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.-Lam. 3:25.

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.-Psa. 37:7.

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.-James 5:7.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.-Psa. 62: 5-7.

He that believeth shall not make haste.Isa. 28: 16.

The Child's Service

Serve the Lord with gladness.-Psa. 100: 2. And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways and to love Him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul?-Deut. 10: 12.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; Him shalt thou serve, and to Him shalt thou cleave.-Deut. 10:20.

Ye shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and ye shall serve Him and cleave unto Him.-Deut. 13:4.

Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things He hath done for you.-1 Sam. 12:24.

If ye will fear the Lord and serve Him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God.—1 Sam. 12:14.

My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before Him to serve Him.-2 Chron. 29: II.

He that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.-Luke 22: 26, 27.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.-Mark 10:45.

Made himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.-Phil. 2: 7.

After that He poureth water into a basin,

and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.-John 13:5.

By love serve one another.-Gal. 5:13.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.-Gal. 6: 2.

With good will doing service, as to the Lord and not to men.-Eph. 6:7.

Now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.-Rom. 7:6.

Let us . . . serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.-Heb. 12:28.

For he that . . . serveth Christ is acceptable to God and approved of men.-Rom. 14: 18.

Serving the Lord with all humility.-Acts 20:19.

If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve Me, him will my Father honor. John 12:26.

And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve Him; and they shall see his face, and his name shall be in their foreheads.-Rev. 22: 3, 4.
