The Catalogue Of the scottish bishops, which had become extremely scarce and high-priced, is again presented to the public with such addi tions and improvements as the nature Of the work seemed to req uire. The reader will, however, be pleased to learn, that no liberties have been taken either with the language or the statements of Bishop Keith his volume now appearing, with a slight alteration in its external form, an exact re print of the laborious work which he gave to the world near seventy years ago. The additions made to the historical part Of the Catalogue, have been carefully kept separate, and are brought forward either in notes at the bottom Of the se veral pages to which they refer, or in the Ap pendix at the end Of the volume and that these additions are not more numerous and more important, is chiefly to be ascribed to the in defatigable industry of the original author, who appears to have left no source of information unexamined, and no materials fit for his purpose unappr'opriated.
