Greek and Latin Languages, that by no other word, (neither by the word πρόσωπον, nor by ὑπόςασις, nor by any other word whatsoever,) can they so properly exprefs that which we mean by the english word, perfon; as by the mafculine Adjective alone. Upon which account the words of our Saviour, Job. xvi, 13. When Henev, to oveũμa & åandeias That Perfon,] the Spirit of Truth is come; are generally allowed to be a good Proof of the Perfonality of the Holy Ghost. And Job. x, 30, our Saviour affirms that He and his Father are [not, Es, One Perfon; but, v] one and the fame Thing, as to the Exercise of Power. And Tertullian and Other Writers commonly diftinguish, that they are not, [Unus,] one Perfon; but [Unum,] one and the fame Thing.
