The Child's Cry In Trouble and the Father's Answer By Comfort

Behold, O Lord; for I am in distress.-Lam.

I:20.

I, even I, am He that comforteth you.-Isa. 51:12.

I will speak in the anguish of my spirit.—Job

7: II.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him.-Psa. 91: 15.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble.-Psa. 9:13.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you.-Isa. 66: 13.

My soul refused to be comforted.-Psa. 77: 2. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.-2 Thess. 2: 16, 17. 2:16,

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.-John 14:16.

All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.-Psa. 42:7.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.-2 Cor. 1: 3.

In the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. -Psa. 57: I.

The shadow of a great rock in a weary land. -Isa. 32:2.

They that dwell under His shadow shall return.-Hosea 14:7.

Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low.-Psa. 142:6.

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem.-Isa. 40: I, 2.

Let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us; for we are brought very low.-Psa. 79:8. The ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isa. 35: 10.

Give me help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.-Psa. 108: 12.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee.-Psa. 55:22.

Will the Lord cast me off for ever? and will

He be favorable no more?-Psa. 77:7.

The Lord will not cast off for ever; but though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies.-Lam. 3:31, 32.

O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.-Matt. 26: 39.

Casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you.-1 Peter 5:7.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.-John 14:26.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto

Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. -Psa. 61: 2.

Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.-Isa.

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me:

in the day when I call answer me speedily.-Psa. 102: 2.

Before they call I will answer, and while they are yet speaking I will hear.-Isa. 65: 24.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.-Psa. 130:1, 2.

I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.-Jer. 31: 13.

How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? Consider and hear me, O Lord, lighten mine eyes lest I sleep the sleep of death.-Psa.

Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.—Eph. 5: 18, 19.

Hear me, O Lord; for thy loving-kindness is good; turn unto me according to the mul titude of thy tender mercies. And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am

in trouble: hear me speedily.-Psa. 69: 16, 17.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.-John 14: 18.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.-Luke 12:6, 7.

Save me, O God, for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.-Psa. 69: 1, 2, 3.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.-Isa. 43: 2.

Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me.-Psa. 143: 1, 4, 7. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be
