PREFACE TO THE FIRST EDITION. THE present Work forms a Sequel to the Author's Class-Books of Old and New Testament History. Like them, it is furnished with notes and references to larger Works, and it is hoped that it may be found, especially in the higher Forms of our Public Schools, to supply a suitable Manual of Instruction in the chief doctrines of our Church, and a useful Help in the preparation of Candidates for Confirmation. PREFACE TO THE SECOND EDITION. THE rapid sale of the First Edition of this Class-Book may, it is hoped without presumption, be regarded as a proof that it has been found useful to those students for whom it is designed.
