A GOOD COPY OF THIS EXTREMELY RARE WORK. The cordiform map, which is rarely found with the book, is in facsimile in the present, otherwise this is a very desirable copy. This work, which is an essay to prove the practicability of the Northwest Passage, is credited with giving a new impulse to English explorations. The author, who was drowned off the coast of Newfoundland in 1583, is renowned as the first Englishman who attempted to found a colony in the New World. Contains the final leaf, 12, with the "Faultes escaped in the printing" on recto, and Colophon and printer's device on verso.
