I didn't quite know what to expect from this book. While gardening isn't something I'm really into, I was curious to hear Pollan's eloquent words given his astute understanding of our food culture. The story he shares is a personal one regarding his own history with gardening. He keeps a rather objective take on it, seeming to recall his experiences as more a scientist. He notes many perspectives and strong opinions (though not not his own) about the subject, offering a bit of commentary but leaving judgement to the readers. I listened to the audio book version which is read clearly by Pollan himself.
